OpenAI Leaves Bing in the Dust and TikTok Shaking in Its Boots!

By Hoopla

Hey, hey, hey, people! Are you ready to give you the inside scoop on the internet's latest shake-up. So, buckle up and get ready for a wild ride through the world of web traffic!

Picture this: the internet, a vast playground where billions of users roam, looking for the next big thing. We all know the usual suspects, like YouTube and Facebook, hogging the spotlight and capturing our precious online time. But hold on tight, because a new wave of innovation is crashing in, and it's powered by generative AI!

Now, we're talking about the big leagues here. Alphabet and Facebook have been sitting pretty at the top of the web food chain for years, with their websites ruling the roost. When you add up the traffic from Google, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, they gobble up a whopping three-quarters of the top 25 list. Talk about internet domination!

But wait, there's more! Thanks to the fine folks at SimilarWeb, we've got a glimpse into the current top 25 websites based on their traffic numbers. Drumroll, please! Here's the lineup as of April 2023:

  1. Google.com: 83.9 billion monthly visits – crushing it in the search engines category.

  2. YouTube.com: 32.7 billion monthly visits – bringing the entertainment to your screens.

  3. Facebook.com: 16.8 billion monthly visits – giving you the social media fix you crave.

  4. Twitter.com: 6.4 billion monthly visits – where people go to shout into the void in 280 characters or less.

  5. Instagram.com: 6.3 billion monthly visits – where filters make your life look way more interesting.

  6. Baidu.com: 4.7 billion monthly visits – representing China's search engine prowess.

  7. Wikipedia.org: 4.5 billion monthly visits – the go-to source for all your random knowledge needs.

  8. Yandex.ru: 3.3 billion monthly visits – Russia's answer to internet search.

  9. Yahoo.com: 3.2 billion monthly visits – still hanging in there, dishing out news and media.

  10. XVideos.com: 2.9 billion monthly visits – coughs moving on swiftly.

  11. WhatsApp.com: 2.8 billion monthly visits – connecting you with everyone you know and some you don't.

  12. Pornhub.com: 2.6 billion monthly visits – alright, enough said, next!

  13. XNXX.com: 2.3 billion monthly visits – seriously, we're moving on!

  14. Amazon.com: 2.2 billion monthly visits – delivering packages and our shopping addiction.

  15. TikTok.com: 2.0 billion monthly visits – where dances go viral and we lose hours of productivity.

  16. Live.com: 2.0 billion monthly visits – managing your emails while pretending to be productive.

  17. OpenAI.com: 1.8 billion monthly visits – our rising star in the tech world, coming in hot!

  18. Reddit.com: 1.7 billion monthly visits – where cats, memes, and discussions collide.

  19. Docomo.ne.jp: 1.6 billion monthly visits – telecommunications with a side of sushi, I guess.

  20. Linkedin.com: 1.6 billion monthly visits – where professionals pretend to be professional.

  21. Netflix.com: 1.4 billion monthly visits – where binge-watching becomes a lifestyle choice.

  22. Office.com: 1.4 billion monthly visits – work, work, work, work, work, Rihanna-style.

  23. Yahoo.co.jp: 1.3 billion monthly visits – Japan's news and media representation.

  24. Dzen.ru: 1.3 billion monthly visits – community and society... in Russian, I assume.

  25. Bing.com: 1.3 billion monthly visits – oh, look who's still here! You go, Bing!

Now, this list might make you think it's a U.S. party, but we've got a few international players sneaking in there too. Baidu from China and Yandex from Russia are waving their flags high and proud. But here's the juicy part: the three adult websites on this list—XVideos, PornHub, and XNXX—are throwing a spicy curveball by being based outside the U.S. Who would've thought?

Now, let's talk about the real game-changer here. Brace yourselves for OpenAI! These guys have been working their AI magic, creating tools like ChatGPT, and they're shooting up the web traffic charts like a rocket. From a mere 20 million visits a month last year, they're now sitting at a mind-blowing 1.8 billion visits in April 2023. I'm telling you, OpenAI is climbing so fast, they might just kick TikTok and Amazon off their pedestals. Watch out, world!

But as with all good things, we wonder if OpenAI can keep up the pace and remain the internet's darling. Time will tell, my friends. In the ever-changing world of the web, nothing is certain except that I'll be here to bring you all the hilarious updates.

So, stay tuned, keep clicking, and remember, the internet is a wild, wacky place. Embrace it and laugh along the way!

Lost in the AI Art Jungle: Greg Rutkowski's Bizarre Journey from Master Artist to Accidental Prompt!

By Voice of Treason

Here’s a story that'll make your head spin faster than a squirrel on a caffeine high. We're diving into the world of AI-generated art and the poor chap who's caught in the middle of it all. Brace yourselves for the wild ride!

So, we all know AI can create some pretty snazzy art, right? But who's the guy behind all those jaw-dropping fantasy images you see floating around the web? Spoiler alert: It's not Greg Rutkowski. Yeah, you heard me right. This poor bloke is an insanely talented digital fantasy artist responsible for the iconic Dungeons & Dragons and Neverwinter artwork. But when it comes to those blue-skinned, eight-fingered dragon riders, he's not the culprit!

You see, Greg's style is so distinctive and powerful that his art has become the go-to inspiration for AI art generators. And guess what? People are slapping his name on AI-generated art like it's going out of fashion. Can you imagine the confusion it causes? Even genuine fans and industry insiders are scratching their heads, wondering if Greg has gone off the deep end.

The peeps who had a chat with Greg, said he's as baffled as anyone. He said, "It's still a mystery for me. I became like a meme, the most iconic prompt, just because I was delivering cool results." Poor guy just wanted to create amazing art, not become an unwitting art generator celebrity!

But here's the kicker. Some AI art generators even made Greg's name a default prompt. Yeah, you heard that right. Just type "Greg" and click a button, and voila! You've got yourself a masterpiece in seconds. Greg's reaction? A resounding "What the hell?!" And honestly, who can blame him?

The terrifying thing is that this AI madness is hard to stop. It takes Greg 20 to 40 hours to create a single illustration, but AI can churn out artwork faster than you can say "Picasso." It's enough to make your head spin faster than a game of Dungeons & Dragons on roller skates.

But here's the silver lining, my friends. Greg believes that people will eventually crave authentic, human-made art. He knows that nothing beats the touch of a human hand when it comes to creating something truly meaningful. No one wants to hang a fake AI-generated print on their wall, right?

So, while the AI art trend may be encroaching on the scene, Greg's focusing on what he does best: creating incredible art with his human touch. He's got new projects lined up, including the 10th anniversary of Neverwinter, and he's putting the AI dilemma on the back burner to focus on his mental health. Good for him!

If you're feeling adventurous, go ahead and try an AI generator like Adobe Firefly. It's a bit more ethical than those big, bad apps out there. But remember, there's nothing like good ol' traditional art created by talented humans. Pencil drawing, acrylic painting—get your hands dirty and let your creativity shine!

And that's the story of Greg Rutkowski, the accidental Picasso of Stable Diffusion. Stay tuned, folks, 'cause the art world is never short of surprises!

ChatGPT Turns Six Months: A Wild Ride of AI Phenomenon, Controversies, and Unforgettable Conversations

By Bilbou

Alright, folks, buckle up because we're diving into the wild world of ChatGPT! It's been just six months since OpenAI unleashed this interactive chatbot on the world, and let me tell you, it's been a rollercoaster ride. This little chatterbox went from being the AI community's hot topic to a global cultural phenomenon faster than you can say "artificial intelligence."

But hold onto your hats because ChatGPT's impact and fallout are just getting started. This bad boy has sparked debates on ethics, privacy, copyright, data security, and misinformation. It's made headlines, freaked out teachers, and even landed some lawyers in hot water. Hollywood is trembling, and job displacement concerns are on the rise. It's like the AI version of a Hollywood blockbuster, except this time, it's real, baby!

When OpenAI dropped the bombshell on November 30, 2022, nobody saw it coming. The AI community was all hyped up about NeurIPS, a fancy conference on machine learning and computational neuroscience. But instead, OpenAI said, "Hey, forget about NeurIPS, we got something even cooler!" And just like that, ChatGPT was born—a chatbot that could answer follow-up questions, challenge incorrect premises, and reject inappropriate requests. It was like having a Siri on steroids!

The tech world lost its mind. AI practitioners were banging away on their keyboards, and industry big shots were singing ChatGPT's praises. Aaron Levie, CEO of Box, was like, "This changes everything!" Paul Graham, the Y Combinator cofounder, was like, "Something big is happening, y'all!" Even Elon Musk, the tech mogul himself, chimed in with a "scary good" tweet. When Elon's worried, you know things are getting real.

But with great power comes great responsibility, my friends. ChatGPT has a sneaky hidden danger lurking beneath its smooth-talking surface. You see, it's so good at sounding confident and spewing out fancy responses that you'll believe anything it says - even if it's total BS. It's like that friend who always has a slick answer but never actually knows what they're talking about. Yeah, ChatGPT can be like that, too.

Don't worry, though. OpenAI's CEO, Sam Altman, was quick to admit the risks. He was like, "Look, ChatGPT is limited, okay? Don't go depending on it for anything important just yet. We've got work to do." At least he's honest about it. But did that stop the hype train? Nope! ChatGPT just kept chugging along, with conferences banning it left and right and competitors trying to steal its thunder.

And here we are, six months later, celebrating ChatGPT's half-birthday. It's become an icon, a symbol of the AI revolution that's upon us. Sure, not everyone has tried it, but they've definitely heard of it. And let me tell you, the future is looking both exciting and terrifying. So, happy half-birthday, ChatGPT! Let's raise a glass and toast to the chatbot that's taken the world by storm. Now, if only ChatGPT could plan its own birthday party...
