The Future of Hollywood: Chatbots vs. Screenwriters

By Voice of Treason

You know what? I'm a little annoyed. Why? Because the Writers Guild of America is going on strike to keep Hollywood human! They don't want AI chatbots writing the next blockbuster movie, and I'm thinking...do they really have anything to worry about? I mean, have you seen some of the movies coming out of Hollywood lately? It's like they're already written by chatbots!

But in all seriousness, the WGA is concerned that if chatbots start writing scripts, it'll be hard to determine who should be compensated. If a computer can write a script that sounds like it was written by Nora Ephron, do the original writers still get paid? And what about the future of screenwriting as a profession?

Now, I understand where the WGA is coming from. They don't want to lose their jobs to a machine. But let's be honest, there are some scripts that could definitely use a little robotic intervention. I'm looking at you, "Transformers: Age of Extinction." And as for the "Succession" finale, I think we all know that no AI chatbot can write something that brilliant.

But I get it, this is about more than just Hollywood writers. This is about setting a precedent for the future of AI in the workforce. And if actors start competing with chatbots for jobs, we're in trouble. Can you imagine a robot version of Robert De Niro? "You talkin' to me?" More like "You beepin' to me?"

So, good luck to the WGA on their strike. Let's just hope they don't replace all the picket signs with chatbots too.

AI is Coming for Your Job (and Your Identity)!

By Duck Faze

It's no secret that AI has been creeping its way into every aspect of our lives. And now, it looks like it's coming for our jobs too. So, when will AI answer emails? Well, according to experts, it's not a matter of if, but when.

These industry leaders are saying that AI could even take over tasks like answering emails. Can you imagine? Finally, a computer program that can impersonate you perfectly! It's like having a clone that can take care of all your boring work while you go out and live your life. Of course, there are concerns that AI will harm jobs, but Ambereen Toubassy, the chief financial officer of Airtable, says it will actually enhance our workday. She thinks it will help remove routine and repetitive tasks, allowing us to focus on critical and creative thinking. I mean, who wouldn't want that?

Doug Sieg, CEO of Lord Abbett, agrees with her. He thinks jobs will become more dynamic and interesting as technology continues to advance. It makes what are mundane jobs, better jobs. And don't worry, folks, AI won't get rid of people entirely. It'll just make their roles more fulfilling.

Igor Tulchinsky, CEO of WorldQuant, thinks AI will allow people to get from point A to point B in their daily tasks much faster. And get this, folks, point B could actually be something different from what was originally devised because AI has new ideas. So, not only will AI make our work easier, it'll also make us more creative!

But the real question is, when will AI be advanced enough to respond to our emails in our voice and manner? CNBC's Brian Sullivan, who moderated the panel, wanted to know. And Igor Tulchinsky had the answer. He says AI can do it now, but you just have to be prepared. It can even get about 80% of the content correct. So, in theory, you only need to spend 20% of the time doing equal amounts of work.

But, of course, AI is never going to hit 100% accuracy. Why? Because it simply doesn't know everything. And that's where the human touch comes in. Rodney McMullen, CEO of The Kroger Co., says AI allows you to do more complex tasks, analyzing three or four things at a time, while an individual can only look at one. So, partnering with AI can actually make you smarter.

But let's be real, folks, we all know the real reason AI is here: to take over the world. Just kidding! Or am I? Either way, it looks like AI is here to stay. And as long as it doesn't turn into a homicidal robot, I think we'll be just fine.

ChatGPT: The New TikTok, but Smarter and Safer?

By Bilbou

Let’s talk about the recent data breach that happened to ChatGPT. Man, ChatGPT was so popular, it was on fire! It was like the new TikTok, but smarter. Now, ChatGPT was supposed to help us, but it looks like the hackers are always one step ahead.

You know, the problem with technology is that it moves so fast, even the people who build it can’t keep up. Hackers are like the Usain Bolt of the cyber world, always running and never slowing down. They're faster than you, they're smarter than you, and they're out to get you.

But hold up, what exactly happened with this data breach? It turns out that ChatGPT’s code was left open to hackers, making it easy for them to get into the system and cause trouble. You see, ChatGPT was like a Swiss Army knife; it had so many useful applications that it became the fastest-growing app in history. Unfortunately, all that popularity made it a prime target for cybercriminals.

But don’t worry, the folks at OpenAI, who created ChatGPT, were quick to react. They patched the bug within days, and the damage was limited. The incident only affected a small number of paying subscribers, so we can all take a deep breath.

However, this data breach does highlight a bigger issue with chatbots and AI technology. These machines can store a lot of data, and we don’t always know who’s looking at it. It’s like the black box in an airplane. You have no idea what’s going on in there until it’s too late.

Now, some people are calling for tighter restrictions on AI use, but let’s be real here. That’s like telling a teenage boy not to look at porn. It ain’t gonna happen. Technology is here to stay, and we need to learn how to deal with it.

So, what’s the solution? Well, OpenAI is taking steps to prevent future data breaches, and that’s a good thing. They’re offering a bug bounty to anyone who can find vulnerabilities in their system, so if you’re a hacker, you might as well get paid for it.

But seriously, we need to be more careful with our data. It’s too valuable to just give away. So, let’s all take a moment to think before we click. And if you do get hacked, don’t worry, you can always call me. I know a guy who knows a guy.
